I'm not a professional
photographer and I don't even play one on TV!
That's the line I give everyone that asks me to take their pictures. It always
gets a good laugh, but I do want to make sure that they know I don't claim to
be a professional photographer! I took pictures of 5 senior girls this year. It
was so much fun, but pretty nerve racking, for me, at the same time. Gary
really is the photographer in our family. I rely on him to take all the
pictures for us. He is the one that knows how to use our camera to create works
of art. I, on the other hand, just like to pick the camera up and start
shooting. Then I expect to get beautifully crisp pictures in the end. Sadly,
there is a little more to it than that. I still have LOTS to learn. I really
would love to take a photography class someplace! I think I will look into it
more seriously. I love photography.
When taking the pictures it is fun to see the personality of each of the girls
come out. I do everything that I can to make them comfortable so I can get some
natural pictures of them. I can always see when it starts to happen, when they
start to feel at ease and just smile naturally for me. I have had an amazing
time with these photo shoots and look forward to taking more!

I hope to get
some boys that want their pictures taken as well. I do believe that will be a
little more challenging as Gary had reminded me the boys more than likely will
not want to sit in the field of flowers, or pose laying on their stomach in the
grass.
